Karate   Marcel van den Burg

Wado karate trained under the guidance of Marcel van den Burg, 4e then karateka, teacher and connected to the karate bound the Netherlands (KBN). Marcel trains for about 25 years at sensei Hideo Muramatsu, he is then a student of the founder of the Wado style, Hironori Otsuka, born in 1892 in Lbaragi near Tokyo. Otsuka sensei coupled its knowledge of jiu-jitsu to Okinawa karate and developed an entirely own style. The Wado karate characterises by a large degree of moving, where assessment and body control are most important. We train on a traditional manner, where heavy physical exercises form a means to reach the higher aim of mental control. The trainings is for all levels. Less attention is given on game techniques.

Japanese sword fighting, Kashima Shinto Ryu, very old traditional Japanese sword fighting. The training exists out of learning to use the wooden practise-sword from fixed choreographies - 'kata's - with a partner.
