Flamenco, originating in the Spanish Andalusia, is dancing with your soul, with all that you are, combined with a technique that demands experience and exercise.

After graduating in 1989 at the Rotterdam Dance Academy with specialisations modern dancing and dance combination, she goes to Madrid, where she commits herself definitively on flamencodans. In Madrid she lives and studies for two years. In the years afterwards she takes several months lessons from great teachers in Madrid, Sevilla and Jerez. Kika still regularly goes to Spain to broaden her horizon. In 1993,  she forms a flamencogroup: ¡Viva Cádiz!, in which she cooperates with among others Andrés Marín. From 1997 up to 2003 Kika belongs to the core of flamencogroup La Primavera. In 2002, Harriët acts in las Brujas in Sevilla. Nowadays Kika forms with gitarist  Victor Rosinha, also her partner, who accompanies also the dancing lessons, the core of flamencogroep Luna and Alta Mar. In search of new ways (within the framework of flamenco) Kika also cooperates with other musicforms (latin, traditional, sufi and jazz) and dancing disciplines (modern dancing). A mile pile for her is the cooperation with dancetheatre-choreographer Tjitske Broersma. Kika makes, in cooperation with the musicans whom she works with, her own flamenco choreographies. She also uses her owm material in her lessons. Aside from teaching Kika works often with people less or more experienced in flamenco.

Kika haves in Amsterdam her own, thriving, practice. Moreover she gives courses throughout the Netherlands and on divergent spots, like on several dancing academies as well as at the Rotterdam Dance Academy (department Flamencogitaar).

Teresa Jaldón is geboren en getogen in Huelva, een van de oudste flamencocentra in Andalusië. Teresa is met de flamenco opgegroeid. Vanaf haar vroegste jeugd heeft zij ononderbroken lessen gevolgd in de Peña Flamenca van Huelva. Daarna studeerde zij in Sevilla klassieke Spaanse dans. Ook in Madrid, Granada, Jerez, heeft zij over langere perioden opleidingen gevolgd van o.a. Manolete, Matilde Coral, Mario Maya en Andres Marín sr. Om zich breder te oriënteren heeft zij aan de universiteit van Huelva pedagogie en theaterwetenschap gestudeerd.

In 1995 vestigde zij zich in Amsterdam. Teresa is de eerste danseres in Nederland die afgestudeerd is aan de Royal Spanish Dance Society. Tevens is zij lid van de Asociación Andaluza de Profesionales de Danza (de beroepsvereniging van dansers in Andalusië).

Teresa heeft in `tablaos’ in Andalusië opgetreden, zowel in Sevilla, Huelva en Jerez als, in de dorpen. Dit jaar maakte ze haar rentree in de oudste peña van Andalusië, de van Huelva, waar zij haar carrière begonnen is. Sinds zij zich in Amsterdam vestigde, heeft zij ook in Nederland regelmatig opgetreden in theaters en op festivals.

Teresa is een hartveroverende persoonlijkheid met Andalusische uitstraling: warm, temperamentvol en direct. Zij danst natuurlijk, sierlijk, maar vol kracht en karakter. Haar dansen hebben een heel eigen stempel, een combinatie van traditioneel Andalusisch en eigen inbreng. Ze imiteert niemand. Ze werkt haar eigen dansen uit die tegelijk stevig geworteld zijn in de Andalusische flamencotraditie.
